Facial Anatomy

This is a 10 minute drawing of facial anatomy of a male using the long edge of a graphite stick. There are some strong shadows and highlights in the image and the main focal point of the image is the shadow on the nose. This is a focal point as it stands out because there are two highlights on each side of it. Also the shape of the nose is well drawn and there is also a small highlight at the bottom of the nose. Also the nose is in the rule of thirds in this image so it is a focal point. The light is coming from the right so all the strong highlights are down the right side of the face. The head has good proportion as measurement was used and also the eyes are well spaced apart. There are some construction lines in the drawing and also this has helped to get the proportion right. The finer detail using the tip of the graphite stick is done well as this has given shape to the head and the shading has given form. There are some good tonal values on the check
